The New Heights Educational Group is recognizing National School Choice Week in Defiance, Ohio on January 27, 2018 at 5:30 pm at Defiance Regional Hospital. Mayor Mike McCann has shared a Proclamation for Defiance School Choice Week 2018 recognizing this event as a city wide event for all citizens.
Pamela Clark, Executive Director of NHEG, stated, “We are so thankful that our local Mayor has recognized National School Choice week. We are extremely happy to host this event annually to bring awareness and community voices together with the hope of bettering our futures in regards to education.”

WHEREAS: Defiance recognizes the important role an effective education plays in preparing all students in Defiance to be successful adults; and
WHEREAS: Quality education is critically important to the economic vitality of Defiance; and
WHEREAS: Educational variety not only helps to diversify our economy, but also enhances the vibrancy of our community; and
WHEREAS: Defiance has many high-quality teachers; and
WHEREAS: School Choice Week is celebrated across the country by millions of students, parents, educators, schools, and organizations to raise awareness of the need for effective educational options that challenge and motivate all our students to succeed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MIKE McCANN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DEFIANCE, OHIO do hereby recognize January 21-27,2018, as:
“DEFIANCE SCHOOL CHOICE WEEK”
and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
