MUSICAL AUDITION NOTICE
Sunday, March 5 – Arts United Center
starting at 6:00 PM
Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together in a timeless, yet uniquely relevant piece of musical theatre. When a Baker and his Wife learn they’ve been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest into the woods for the special objects required to break the spell. Along their journey they resort to swindling, deceiving, and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk)! There are a few requisite handsome princes and evil stepsisters thrown in the mix as well.
Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. The sophistication of Sondheim paired with the timeless tales of The Brothers Grimm combine in this rare modern classic.
(2 weekends: 7 Perf. = 6 Gen. Perf. + ITW/PLU Perf.)
